Iryna Lyashenko: Hello, Maria! Great job is on video - this is like a sample for us! Feel at ease to chat here, we can always help translate.

Dino: Thank you! I`ve seen on Youtube that there were many clicks from russia, so I followed the link und found this forum. Piranha is a great dog and it's a lot of fun to work with him. Maybe my parents can help to read here. They have learned russian at school many years before. greetings Maria

Iryna Lyashenko: Dino Maria, do you have only one dog, Pirahna? The Obedience is really great! Are you engaged in something else with Pirahna? How did you start dog training? Where do you train? Do your parents have any dogs? And you can use the site translator to help you read this site: click here

Dino: I will answer all questions later, because I have to go for walk with my dogs now. How can I register in this forum, so that I can read in all Categories? Some of them are still closed for me. Thank you for the link to the translater. This might be a great help.

Iryna Lyashenko: Dino Have a nice time!

Dino: I have three dogs. You can watch the picture on my account site at this forum. My partents always had hunting dogs. As I was 19 years old I bought for very less money my fist own dog Dino. He was a hunting dog as well, 1 year old an from the dog pound. With this dog I started training and joined the local dog club. We made several different competitons. Like Begleithund, an other Sports were obedience is combined with jumping an runnig with the dog. It´s called Turnierhundesport in Germany. After some years I got the 5 year old Malinois Chubbie from my trainer. She was a good dog, but she had problems with protection. She had no obedience, was crazy on biting an had always problems with her nerves. No barking in the tent, no going out of the sleve. With this dog I went my fist steps in Iposport. It was very difficult, but I reached Begleithund and after IPO 1 , IPO 2 and IPO 3! Nobody believed that this crazy dog could achieve this. Now Chubbie is 9 1/2 years old and I only work with her to keep her happy and healthy. She' s an old girl now. [irlimg]http://jpe.ru/gif/smk/sm243.gif[/img] 2 years ago my father bought Piranha as puppy for himself. I started working with this dog when he was 8 weeks old. To be continued...

Dino: Can you watch my other videos? NATA_sha: hi there! wow, you've done a great job, really what kind of methods did you use in training Piranha? what is your start-up training for a puppy? some more to tell? it's interesting

Dino: Do you know Dildei? He's a german dog trainer in the USA. He has a method called "Futtertreiben" the puppy always follows the left hand which has food inside. This hand shows him to go beside the leg, sit down, lie down, to stand... It's a very positive way of working. Knut Fuchs, Peter Scherk, Robert Parak, ... use this method also for their training. I also use the Clicker. Mostly for the apport. And also some methods from Balabanov. With the young dog I work with food, with the older dogs with food and ball or kong.

NATA_sha: Aha, clear Dino пишет: I also use the Clicker. Mostly for the apport. Does it mean you train it only without prong collar?

Dino: Yes, for apport I don't need a prong collar.

Dino: Hallo Oleg!

Олег Рымарев: Dino пишет: Jemand der deutsch kann, ein Glück!

Iryna Lyashenko: Dino Maria, what is your favourite section in IPO? Sure it must be Obedience! And how do you feel about tracking? Were there any problems with Chubbie in tracking? How did you train her - as well with "Futtertreiben"? I am asking because I am keen indeed on tracking, and "the farther I go the merrier..." - there always the problems to solve. So I wanted to ask you if you don't mind: how do you problems in the training of deep nose in the head wind? If you train commonly with food, whether it is possible to make the dog thoroughly work?

Dino: Yes obedience is my favourite! Oh tracking, I'm still on learning. With Chubbie I had many problems because she had never learned to be slow and concentrated on the track. I started with small food squares (method of Bernd Föry). And after that food tracks. It was a long long way. Also the showing of the objects (stuff which the dog has to find and show on the track). In the end I trated at the objects the ball and "beisswurst" so that it was more important than the track. After that she never missed one of them. Our last track in a competition was very good. So finally we found the right way for us. Your questions with the wind an so on are also my questions. I'm not experienced enough in this things. It's very difficult to find good people in my region who can show you their tricks. With Piranha especially I have problems with the smell of deer on the track. For this he tries to leave the track sometimes. I' m thinkin about how to solve this problem. He's very good on tracking, does a selfconfident and independantly job. Showing the objects never was a problem (he learned it allready on his first tracks) and he finds the track also in very difficult terrain. I' m not sure if pressure wouldn't destroy his selfassurance. My dogs have to work an I'm a real strict trainer but on training itself I work with less pressure and punishment as possible. With Chubbie I started when she was 5 1/2 years an she only knew the working with the ball. So I continued on working with the ball and kong. I'm flexible in this things. Maybe you have an idea for the track?

Iryna Lyashenko: Maria, thank you about your ideas! I did the same: the food squares, the food tracks, than I reduced the food, paid the turns after the corners with to photofilm bins... We also had the long, long way! Actually I like the way my dog works on the track, but... sometimes - it depends on the wind - she can circle on the corners, and she can rush in the difficult sections if the track. And I noticed she may be with the high nose in the head wind leg, and certaimly it causes losing concentration, and if this happens at the corner, she definitely may it pass... So, I heard some advices about that: working with electric collar, increasing food, making the track easier, trying to avoid windy weather and improving the pulling by the lead - it should be always in tense state. But my dog is very difficult to handle with the tense lead - she doesn't understand the tension properly, instead of that she starts to recheck herself... I taught her to be more self-confident and be able to solve the difficulties by herself. So I decided to try a food method. But it is winter here, everything is covered with the snow! So, I'll start in spring then. You may have a look at our latest tracking work!))))

Dino: Your problem can be seen very good at on this video. But still she does a good job! Is fighting and working till the end. That's important too. I don't like tracking with electric collar. A friend of mine did this an the dog got very nervous. Pressure is very dangerous at tracking work. It can always happen that the dog stops tracking at all. Maybe you can tell her with a clear "no" that this is wrong behavior. I also started working with photofilm tubes. It's my first time with Piranha and I like it. I had also problems with the corner with Chubbie. I working with many many corners on track. Only 5 or 15 steps between. Much food was 2 steps behind the corner. Not as a jackpot but on 4 or 5 steps 1 piece food in every step. On normal track less food, so that the corners became more important. It was important for her to find them because she realized that this was the way to her food.

Iryna Lyashenko: Dino, thank you very much for these ideas! I can't help waiting when the fields become clean - everything is covered with snow here! I am longing to start trying! I like the marker system of training too, and my dog loves it very much as well! So, I think, it should help. Now I understand that we both - me and my dog - are missing the tracking work!

AnnaVA: Dino пишет: I also started working with photofilm tubes Hi Dino, What do you do with photofilm tubes? Can you please explain more.

Dino: It's the same here. Everything is covered with snow. @ Anna: Inside the film tube we put food which the dog loves very much. Mostly dog food in cans (do you know what I mean? This wet food which you can buy in every super market) but als cheese or saucage. This better food in film tubes is used at difficult situations on the track. After a corner or on long distances without any food, difficult wind... It's very good, because the dogs really have to use their nose, to find the film tube. I put them also inside the earth so that there can only be seen the cover. The dog stay concentrated an for this he gets a special reward. This works very good. Most of the best handlers in germany use this method. Here you can read it in german: http://hundesportverein-schwenningen.de/vpg/die-f%C3%A4hrtenausbildung/

Iryna Lyashenko: Dino Thank you for the explanations! I use the film tubes in the same situations. Dino пишет: Here you can read it in german: http://hundesportverein-schwenningen.de/vpg/die-f%C3%A4hrtenausbildung/ I read this article - it is my favorite! And I try to follow this system!!! I can read and understand German , but I've nearly lost the ability to speak - haven't got any practice recently...

Dino: @ Iryna: I can't open your link.

Iryna Lyashenko: Dino пишет: Iryna: I can't open your link. Do you mean this one? This video is blocked in some countries because of music...
